Presenting a point of view
At B1, the examiner expects more than short answers: you have to take a position and defend it in connected speech. Whether the topic is remote work, social media or city life, the goal is the same: say clearly what you think, give reasons, and structure your ideas so the listener can follow. A good opinion monologue has three moments: you introduce the subject, you develop your arguments, and you conclude.

French gives you many ways to say I think that. The most neutral take the indicative: je pense que, je trouve que, à mon avis. Watch out for je ne pense pas que and je ne crois pas que, which switch the following verb to the subjunctive. Vary your phrases so you do not repeat je pense in every sentence.

Linking words (connecteurs) are what turn a list of sentences into an argument. Open with tout d'abord or premièrement, add ideas with de plus or par ailleurs, show contrast with cependant or en revanche, give a cause with parce que or car, and close with pour conclure or en somme. These words cost you nothing to memorise and instantly make your speech sound organised.
