At the café and restaurant
Ordering is a common speaking role-play. The polite formula is Je voudrais (I would like) + what you want + s'il vous plaît. Use un / une for countable things (un café, une salade) and the partitive du / de la for an unspecified amount (du thé, de l'eau).
