Stratégie TCF Canada
TCF Canada strategy
TCF Canada strategy
The TCF Canada tests four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing), and each one is scored on its own logic. To perform near your true level on exam day, you need more than language: you need section tactics, a sense of timing, and a clear idea of what each task rewards. This lesson maps the scoring, then walks through the practical moves that protect points in every section.

How the TCF is scored
Each section gives you a score from 0 to 699 points, which converts into a CEFR level from A1 to C2. The written and spoken parts are graded by examiners on a scale from 0 to 20 against detailed criteria, and that mark is then placed on the 699 scale. For Canadian immigration, every section counts on its own: there is no single average that rescues a weak skill, so you cannot afford to neglect one part to over-prepare another.

Complétez la règle de l'oral.
Complete the listening rule.
À l'oral réceptif, vous n'entendez chaque extrait qu'une seule fois, alors il faut ____ la réponse.
Complétez le conseil d'écriture avec un connecteur d'opposition.
Complete the writing advice with a contrast connector.
Cette solution est efficace ; ____ , elle reste coûteuse.
Écoutez et tapez la règle que vous entendez.
Listen and type the listening rule you hear.
Reading: section tactics
The reading section moves from short signs and ads to dense argumentative texts, and the clock is tight. The winning approach is to read the question before the text, then scan for the exact information rather than translating every word. Beware of distractors: options that repeat words from the passage but distort its meaning. The right answer usually reformulates the idea rather than copying it.
Reconstituez la tactique d'expression orale.
Rebuild the speaking tactic.
Pourquoi faut-il sécuriser d'abord les questions de lecture faciles ?
Why should you secure the easy reading questions first?

Listening, speaking and writing tactics
In listening, you hear each clip once, so anticipate: read the options first and predict the answer. In speaking, structure beats vocabulary; announce your plan, develop two or three arguments, and qualify your position to show range. In writing, respect the word count and the register asked for, leave time to reread, and prefer connectors that signal your reasoning (toutefois, en revanche, par conséquent).
