Grammar: planning language and the future
Planning naturally calls for the future tense and time markers. Use d'ici + duration for deadlines (d'ici trois mois, within three months), au bout de for elapsed time (au bout de six semaines, after six weeks), and dès que + future for conditions (dès que j'aurai atteint NCLC 7). For recurring habits, the present works best: chaque semaine, je passe un examen blanc. To express intention with nuance, prefer je compte or je prévois de over a flat je vais.

The weakest-skill logic for NCLC 7
For Canadian immigration, your score is your weakest of the four skills (listening, reading, speaking, writing). Reaching NCLC 7 in three skills but NCLC 6 in the fourth gives you an overall NCLC 6. The consequence is brutal but clarifying: there is no point polishing a skill already above target while a weaker one drags everything down. Your plan must therefore allocate the most time to your weakest skill, and your mock exams exist to tell you, week after week, which skill that is.
