Writing a short message
A short message (text, note, postcard) has three parts: a greeting, a body, and a sign-off. Keep it simple and link ideas with et (and), mais (but), parce que (because). This is the seed of the exam's first writing task.

Greeting and sign-off
Match the register. To a friend: open with Salut + name, close with Bises or À bientôt. More neutral: open with Bonjour, close with Cordialement (you'll meet formal letters at B1). Always sign with your name.
